Exceptional warmth for cold winter days

The Nordic Jacket combines down-like DuPont™ Sorona® insulation with 200 gsm DuPont™ Sustans Sorona® synthetic insulation, creating substantial warmth without relying on traditional down.

Its high collar, insulated construction and protective hood help retain warmth when the temperature falls, while its shorter length makes it particularly practical for active outdoor use.

For anyone who loves the warmth of the Nordic Coat but wants greater freedom around the legs, the Nordic Jacket is an excellent alternative.

Designed for horse riding and the stable

This is first and foremost a serious winter riding jacket.

A two-way YKK VISLON® front zip allows you to adjust the jacket while riding, while the storm placket behind the zip provides additional protection from cold wind.

The shorter cut gives you excellent freedom of movement in the saddle and around the yard without sacrificing upper-body warmth.

A high collar provides extra protection around the neck, while the helmet-compatible detachable hood can be adjusted at the front for additional shelter in poor weather.

Uhip's clever built-in hand warmers

Cold hands can make winter riding miserable, which is why one of our favourite Nordic features is Uhip's fold-down hand-warming cuff system.

The cuffs can be folded over your hands when you need extra protection, with dedicated thumb and little-finger openings helping them remain securely positioned.

They're useful when you're holding the reins, carrying equipment around the yard, walking the dog or simply spending a long time outdoors.

Pair with the Nordic Thermal Skirt

One of the Nordic Jacket's most unusual features is its compatibility with the Uhip Nordic Thermal Skirt.

Pairing the two gives you the additional insulated coverage of a longer coat while retaining the flexibility of two separate garments.

When you don't need the extra coverage, simply wear the jacket on its own.

This makes the Nordic system particularly versatile for changing winter conditions.

Not just for riders

Although designed around equestrian life, the Nordic Jacket makes an excellent general-purpose winter jacket.

Its 9/10 warmth rating makes it particularly useful for freezing football and rugby sidelines, winter dog walks, countryside activities, outdoor events and cold mornings when a conventional lightweight puffer simply isn't warm enough.

The fitted silhouette also means it doesn't immediately look like specialist equestrian clothing, making it easy to wear as an everyday winter jacket.

Weather protection

The Nordic's 100% polyamide ripstop outer incorporates a TPU film and Bionic Finish® ECO fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment.

It has a waterproof rating of 3,000 mm and breathability rating of 3,000 g/m²/24h.

That provides useful protection against light rain, snow and changeable winter weather, but with a Water Resistance rating of 4/10, we wouldn't position the Nordic as a dedicated jacket for prolonged heavy rain.

For persistent wet weather, one of Uhip's higher-rated waterproof jackets would be more appropriate.

Close, flattering fit

The Nordic Jacket has a Close Fit, giving it a more tailored and feminine appearance than many heavily insulated winter jackets.

If you're between sizes, intend to wear substantial layers underneath or simply prefer a little more room, we recommend choosing the larger size.

An adjustable drawcord at the bottom hem also allows you to fine-tune the fit.

Care Instructions

Gentle wash at 30°C using mild detergent and wash with similar colours. Close all zips before washing.

Do not bleach, tumble dry, dry clean, iron or use fabric softener. Remove promptly after washing, shake the garment and hang to dry.
