Uhip Ice Coat – Women’s Warm Winter Riding & Outdoor Coat
Warmth and protection for unpredictable winter weather
The Uhip Ice Coat is a warm, long winter riding coat designed for days when the weather simply can't make its mind up.
With 8/10 warmth, a durable ripstop outer and greater weather resistance than some of Uhip's warmer Nordic styles, the Ice Coat strikes an excellent balance between warmth, breathability and protection from changing winter conditions.
Designed for active riders, it's warm without being excessively insulating when you're moving — making it equally suited to horse riding, stable life, dog walking, countryside walks, football and rugby sidelines, outdoor events and everyday winter wear.
Warmth: 8/10
Breathability: 7/10
Water Resistance: 6/10
Made for cold and changeable weather
The Ice Coat sits in a particularly useful position within Uhip's winter range.
Its 8/10 warmth rating provides substantial insulation for cold days, while the 7/10 breathability rating makes it suitable for more active outdoor use.
A 6/10 Water Resistance rating adds useful protection when winter conditions turn damp, snowy or sleety.
If you want a warm winter coat but don't necessarily need the extreme insulation of a 9/10 or 10/10 Uhip coat, the Ice is a very versatile choice.
Designed around horse riding
The Ice Coat might look like a stylish long winter coat, but many of its details have been designed specifically for riders.
The two-way front zip can be opened from the bottom when you're in the saddle, while the high rear riding vent gives your legs additional freedom of movement.
Rather than having to bunch the coat around you, the lower sections can sit naturally around your legs, providing valuable extra warmth while riding.
Internal elastic thigh straps then help keep the coat securely positioned when it's windy.
Warm hands on freezing rides
Uhip's clever fold-down hand-warming cuffs provide extra coverage when your fingers start feeling the cold.
With openings for your thumb and little finger, they can be folded over your hands while still allowing you to hold the reins or carry equipment.
They're just as useful away from horses — particularly when you're walking the dog or standing outside for long periods.
High fleece-lined collar and helmet-compatible hood
The high collar is lined with fleece, providing soft additional warmth around your neck and helping protect you from cold winds.
There's also a detachable, adjustable and helmet-compatible hood, giving you additional protection when conditions deteriorate.
When you don't need it, simply remove it for a cleaner everyday look.
111.5 cm of winter coverage
The Ice Coat measures approximately 111.5 cm in size 38, with around 2 cm difference between sizes.
That longer length provides significantly more protection than a conventional winter jacket, particularly when you're standing still outdoors.
It covers much of the upper legs while remaining practical enough for active use and riding.
From the stable to the football touchline
One of the reasons we love Uhip clothing at Horse & Sports is that its equestrian features translate remarkably well into everyday outdoor life.
The same long length that keeps your legs warm in the saddle is fantastic when you're standing beside a freezing football or rugby pitch.
The wind-resistant design and thigh straps are equally welcome on exposed dog walks, while reflective details provide additional visibility during dark winter mornings and evenings.
This makes the Ice Coat a great option even if you've never been near a horse.
A great choice for winter and ski holidays
The Ice Coat is also a practical coat to take away on a winter or ski holiday.
It's ideal for walking around snowy resorts, watching from the slopes, travelling, outdoor lunches and heading out for après-ski when you're no longer wearing your ski gear.
Its combination of substantial warmth and protection against changing weather makes it particularly well suited to mountain environments.
Blue Graphite
Blue Graphite gives the Ice Coat a sophisticated alternative to conventional black.
It's a deep, cool-toned blue-grey that works beautifully with black riding wear, winter boots and casual clothing, while remaining understated enough for everyday use.
The subtle blue undertone becomes more apparent in natural daylight, giving the coat a premium, contemporary appearance.
Close, flattering fit
The Ice Coat has Uhip's Close Fit, giving it a feminine silhouette despite its substantial winter insulation.
If you're between sizes, want to wear thicker layers underneath or simply prefer a more relaxed fit, we recommend choosing the larger size.

Why We Love the Uhip Ice Coat at Horse & Sports
The Ice Coat is a particularly good all-round winter option.
Rather than concentrating purely on maximum insulation, it balances 8/10 warmth, 7/10 breathability and 6/10 water resistance, making it a versatile choice for Britain's constantly changing winter weather.
The long length, riding vent, thigh straps, fleece-lined pockets and clever hand warmers are fantastic for equestrians — but they're equally useful when you're walking the dog, standing on a frosty football touchline or spending a cold day outdoors.
It's technical equestrian outerwear that makes just as much sense away from the stable.
